Marc A Williams , PA-C, MPAS

Marc Williams is a Family Physician Assistant and a multi-generational, lifelong Pueblo resident. Marc graduated from Pueblo Central High School and later attended Colorado State University in Fort. Collins, Colorado, graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. He completed his Physician Assistant education at Saint Francis College in Loretto, Pennsylvania and received a Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. He completed most of his medical internships in Baltimore, Maryland before returning home for his final family practice internship at Southern Colorado Clinic.

Marc has extensive experience in family practice providing exceptional patient care in the Pueblo community for more than 20 years. He has had the opportunity to practice in a variety of settings including office, urgent care, and hospital settings. Marc loves taking care of patients in all age groups with an interest in both acute and chronic medical condition management and he is now open to new patients of all types. When not at work, Marc and his wife Angel stay busy caring for their large family ranging in age from 7 to 23 years old. He has many hobbies but particularly enjoys watching the Broncos, participating in fantasy football leagues, and playing cards.

Brooke DeWeese, PA-C, MMS

Brooke DeWeese is a Family Physician Assistant who grew up in Pueblo. After graduating as Salutatorian from Pueblo County High School, she earned her Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemistry and Biology from Colorado State University. She then went on to attend the Physician Assistant program at Midwestern University in Glendale, AZ where she obtained a Master’s Degree of Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies.

After becoming a licensed Physician Assistant, Brooke moved back to Pueblo to be closer to family and began working as a Family Medicine PA. She is passionate about helping others and truly cares about all of her patients. Her specific interests include pediatrics and women’s health, but she is happy to see patients of all ages. When not at work, Brooke enjoys outdoor activities, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her two young children who are the loves of her life.

Marissa Shisler, FNP-C

Marissa Shisler is a certified Family Nurse Practitioner at University Family Medicine. She was born and raised in Pueblo, Colorado. She is a high school graduate from Pueblo West High. She graduated from Colorado State University-Pueblo with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing. With her degree she worked at Parkview Medical Center and St. Mary Corwin Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She worked in same day surgery and a medical surgical floor/neuro-trauma step down unit.

In 2015, Marissa returned to Colorado State University-Pueblo to pursue her Masters in Nursing. She graduated with honors and completed her Family Nurse Practitioner and Acute Care Adult/Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. She loves working with her patients and taking care of their family needs. Marissa loves spending time with her husband and family here in Pueblo. She also enjoys going to the gym, crafting, traveling, and anything outdoors.

Laura McMahon, FNP-C

Laura McMahon is a respected Family Nurse Practitioner at University Family Medicine. She is a Colorado native who grew up in the Arkansas Valley and has always had a passion for helping people. After graduating from Swink High School, she attended Regis University, in Denver Colorado, to obtain her Bachelors in Nursing. Upon receiving her degree in 2003, Laura obtained a job at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood. There she worked on the Multi Trauma Unit focusing on trauma victims and spinal cord injuries.

After moving back to Pueblo to be closer to family, she decided to obtain a Masters in Nursing while she worked in the ICU at St. Mary Corwin. Laura graduated in 2009 from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs with her Masters in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She loves family practice and sees patients of all ages keeping her days exciting. Laura’s loves of her life are her two daughters and being able to serve the citizens of this region.

Gwynn Antonson, DO

Gwynn Antonson, DO, is a highly trained osteopathic physician at University Family Medicine Center, P.C. in Pueblo, Colorado. Dr. Antonson specializes in bariatric medicine, including medical weight loss and obesity treatments, bioidentical hormone replacement therapy, and dermatology.

She grew up in Pueblo, Colorado, and earned her undergraduate degree at Colorado State University (CSU) in Fort Collins, Colorado. Dr. Antonson received her doctorate from Kansas City University (KCU) of Medicine and Biosciences in Kansas City, Missouri.

Next, she completed family medicine residencies at Aria Health in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) in New Jersey.

She worked as a medical director of bariatric services at Adirondack Medical Center in upstate New York before happily returning home to Pueblo, Colorado, to be closer to her family and care for patients at University Family Medicine Center, P.C.

Dr. Antonson regularly completes continuing education to stay up-to-date with the latest advances in family medicine. She is board-certified in family medicine and board-eligible in bariatric medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Antonson loves traveling, cooking, camping, golfing, swimming, watching the Broncos, and spending time with her family and friends. She is happily married to her husband, who is also a Pueblo native.

Dr. Antonson enjoys caring for her patients at University Family Medicine Center, P.C., and welcomes them to the practice.

Cheryl Wills, DO

Cheryl Wills, DO, is a skilled osteopathic physician at University Family Medicine Center, P.C. in Pueblo, Colorado. She’s a proud alumnus of the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley, Colorado, and a native of Northern Colorado.

Dr. Wills completed her medical degree at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine (ATSU-KCOM ) in Kirksville, Missouri, and has many years of professional experience. She worked as a physician at Lakeview Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and completed a family medicine residency at Des Moines General Hospital in Iowa before moving to Colorado.

She fell in love with family practice after recognizing her enjoyment of treating the full-spectrum medical needs of patients and their entire families. Dr. Wills is board-certified by the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) and maintains her advanced credentials with continuing education. Her board certification validates her extensive knowledge in family medicine.

In her free time, Dr. Wills enjoys spending time with her family and friends, doing sports activities, and gardening. She’s happily married with two children.

Lawrence Anaya, MD

Lawrence Anaya, MD, is an experienced primary care physician at University Family Medicine Center, P.C. in Pueblo, Colorado. He’s a New Mexico native but has lived in Pueblo since 1985 when he moved there to complete a family medicine residency at Southern Colorado Family Medicine.

Dr. Anaya received his bachelor’s degree from New Mexico State University (NMSU) in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and graduated from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine (UNM) in Albuquerque.

He provides exceptional patient care and maintains his medical credentials with continuing education. Dr. Anaya is board-certified in family medicine and serves as a medical director at Crossroads' Turning Points, Inc. (CTP) in Southern Colorado.

He loves the small-town feel of Pueblo, which is why he joined University Family Medicine Center, P.C.

Dr. Anaya is active within his community. He has served on several boards of directors in various organizations, including Sangre de Cristo Hospice, Boys and Girls Club of Pueblo, Rosemont Museum, Pueblo Country Club, Morton Elementary Oversight Committee, and YMCA of Pueblo.

In his free time, Dr. Anaya enjoys spending time with his wife and two children. His hobbies include fly fishing, skiing, hiking, biking, golfing, and traveling.
